This one is called, “The Release”, acrylic on canvas with red oak framing. I just had a therapy session on my journey to healing my inner child and hit a nerve when it came to the years of my molestation when I was being babysat. I know, that’s pretty heavy to put in a painting (or release on social media out of nowhere) for it to sit in someone’s home, but it was such a good session you can see the release and renew in this piece. The red trauma from my past that spills into my life from time to time is met with the green peace of tranquility from my present day. As I continue to work on myself and heal from the trauma, the white paint seems to be washing away anew, starting a clean slate. The acceptance and releasing of the pain. I am no longer in survival mode.
